Biography:
Tineidae is a Warsaw-based project of Ukrainian composer Pavlo Storonskyi. As Tineidae draws from an array of genres and styles to produce a unique blend of beat-heavy industrial IDM, ambient electronica, and atmospheric soundscapes. Influenced by science fiction, especially cyberpunk , Storonskyi’s works tells aural stories of dark futurist wastelands, dystopian megacities, and journeys into the far reaches of space. Since childhood, Storonsky says he has always been fascinated with the vastness of the universe, which has served as a constant inspiration for his electronic symphonies. Citing musical influences such as Burial, Access To Arasaka, Jean Michel Jarre, Subheim, and Bad Sector, Storonskyi credits the magnetic draw of passing trains and moths drawn to streetlamps for his work. Or as he likes to say, “I identify with moth subculture. I’m cyber-moth.”

With just a handful of compilation appearances to his name, Storonskyi’s big debut as Tineidae was the “Lights” album. Released by Tympanik Audio,  the album turned heads with its meshing of futuristic beats with brooding synths, stark melodies, and entrancing atmospheres landscapes–a style which has continued to develop and evolve with each new release. Whether it be the beat-oriented IDM of the “Shadows” album, or the and tightly-textured cyberpunk ambience of the “Exo” album, Tineidae’s music never fails to conjures dreamlike, futuristic visions into the minds of listeners.

Along with Tineidae’s primary body of work, Storonsky has collaborated with drum & bass producer D3Z to produce one hell of a single. Entitled, “Lockstep / Kyber” two track release is a uncompressing eleven minute barrage of cutting-edge techstep music. Similarly, he also teamed up three times with Comforting Darkness to produce excellent electro-industrial / trance techno singles.
