Started sometime around the 2000, Holon is the solo vision of musician Mark Rydyger. Heavily inspired by cyberpunk and 90s-era electronica, Holon takes techno-EBM techniques flood it with a spacy, ambient fullness.

The name “Holon” is rooted in Arthur Koestler’s book, “The Ghost in the Machine” (1967). The phrase to hólon is a Greek word preceding the Latin analogue universum, in the sense of totality, a whole. Specifically, a holon is something that is simultaneously a whole and a part.
