Biography:
DARKPYRAMID is a pseudonym of Dream Catalogue label runner and prominent vaporwave artist HKE (aka Hong Kong Express). With many vaporwave artists taking influences from other genres like trap, pop, dubstep, funk and soul, found sound, and ambient, there’s a multitude of dynamic and fantastic music being made under the vaporwave umbrella, DARKPYRAMID is move stylistically illusive. Using latent noise and echoing electronic tones, his music weaves sustained chords and shimmering high synth tones throughout a urban soundscapes, dripping rain, and ambient noise compositions. David Russo has also released music under a number of other aliases including Subaeris, Sandtimer, and more; he’s also one half of the incredibly successful duo 2 8 1 4 along with the great t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者. DARKPYRAMID, though, is a side-project worthy of the same prominence that HKE and 2 8 1 4 .
