Rating: Very good, also friggin’ hilarious.
After the SPPD fires Maxwell Cain, aka “Bloody Rain Cain,” executing one too many dirtbags on the street San Pajita, Max seeks solace in the one thing that brings peace to his all-too-violent life–a meal at his favorite taqueria. Too bad a gang of thugs bust in to the joint and sully his comfort burrito! Max isn’t having it! NOBODY gets between a man and his spicy carne asada! It’s time to bring the pain! What begins as an argument over a ruined burrito quickly spirals into a bloody hurricane of bullets, car chases, and maximum mayhem!
On his rampage of destruction Max is joined in his fight by the gorgeous Kate Valentine, a blonde bombshell baker with an itchy trigger finger and curves to die for! As the two rush into battle against an entire criminal organization, they are hunted by the relentless terror of the seedy underworld: Johnny Legion.
An action novel that falls somewhere between Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, and the cult-classic 80’s action parody series, Sledge Hammer, Maxwell Cain: Burrito Avenger reads like the best cheesy 80s action sci-fi film you’ve never seen.
