Biography:
For the industrial rock band Zeromancer, their name has two distinct meanings. The first is the obvious reference to William Gibson’s seminal cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer. The second, a play on the words “zero” and “romance.” “I thought it would be a good combination,” explains founding member Kim Ljung, who in 1999 founded the band with Erik Ljunggren. Both former members of the Norwegian alt-rock band, Seigmen, to pair started Zeromancer as a way to branch out and try something new. Moving to Los Angeles, they were joined by guitarist Chris Schleyer, who was well known for his work with the Kidneythieves.

Dubbing themselves an “industrial boy band,” Zeromancer’s sound is in a similar vein to artists like Celldweller, Stabbing Westward, and Orgy–although elements of synthpop and alt-rock can be heard in may of their songs.
