Genre: Death Metal, Industrial, Thash Metal.
Biography:
Singer, songwriter, actress, and adult model, Sabrina Sabrok is South America’s premier body rebel and cyberpunk rock star. Born in 1974 as Lorena Fabiana Colotta, Sabrok spent her youth in Buenos Aires studying music and listening the bands like AC/DC, the Ramones, and the Misfits. Although she had always had a love of music, it was the purchase of a computer at age nineteen the spurred Sabrok to begin writing her own compositions via the MIDI technology of the era. Although she had always had a love of music, it was the purchase of a computer at age nineteen the spurred Sabrok to begin writing her own compositions via the MIDI technology of the era. Still, it would be another two years before she took any of those composition into a live performance setting. At the time, she’d been working as a model in Mexico City. This is where she first began to use the name Sabrina Sabrok— Sabrok had been her grandmother’s maiden name, and Sabrina was simply a named she liked.

As Sabrina Sabrok, her face instantly became recognizable across the southern hemisphere as she appear on billboards and magazine ads selling everything from Sanyo electronics to Harley Davidson’s clothing line. With her waifish build and boyish features, Sabrok was in high demand as a model. The fashion world absolutely loved Sabrok’s pre-pubescent looks.

Sabrok, on the other hand, did not.

Recall, this was the 1990s, an era when emaciation was in and feminine curves were discouraged. A model weighing above 105 pounds was thought of a dangerously close to becoming “fat”.

Never afraid to challenge conventional norms, in 1994 Sabrok turned to medical science and a strict fitness regimen to attain the seductively feminine body she desired. Shortly after the first surgery, a more toned, bustier, and womanly Sabrok emerged. One who bore almost no resemblance to child-like model whose face was used to hock so many products. Sabrok was officially done with the fashion industry. She needed something more meaningful to do with her life. Something more raw. More real. Unrestrained and primal. Where she found that “something” was in the gritty clubs of Mexico City’s punk scene.

Later that year Sabrok was already performing with as, Primeras Impresiones (First Impressions). “I played electronic punk-style music,” she says, describing the band’s early sound. “I played with my computer and midi controllers and that was kind of rare for 1994.” A fan of the cyberpunk genre, Sabrok’s aim was to create music that was a literal audio merging of “cyber” and punk rock into, “…a post punk concept doing music with drum machines and electronic devices.”

Originally a solo act, Sabrok shocked audiences with an aggressive stage presence that was one-part rock goddess, two-parts dominatrix, and a whole lot of spiked aggression. “I started back in 1995 and again it was just me and my computer… later on I started to add musicians.” Within a year the band was performing as a five-piece outfit with live musicians on guitar, bass, drum, and synthesizer. Then in 1997, Primeras Impresiones found new direction when the band opened for Marilyn Manson during his “Dead to the World” tour.

Manson’s influence on Sabrok was instantly noticeable on Primeras Impresiones next album. The band’s post-punk edge became infused with thrash metal guitar, industrial electronics, and a heavy dose of shock rock showmanship. But whereas Manson’s public image is synonymous with all things dark and morbid, Sabrok found her inspiration once again in high-tech lowlife visions of cyberpunk. Once again, Sabrok turned to medical science to upgrade her look. Between 1997  and 1999, the she had undergone five more operations.

One to alter her face.

One to graft vampire fangs to her upper jaw.

Three to slowly expand her breasts to a pair of massive HH-cups.

Gone was the punk goddess of the past, replaced by a sleek, oversexualize android-like appearance. Sabrok had re-invented herself again, this time as a living sex doll clad in leather.

With each successive album to follow Primeras Impresiones’ sound became increasingly more refined. While never fully abandoning their punk roots, songs became increasingly more in line with the works of KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, and Rammstein. Meanwhile, the lyrical content and performances became ever more shocking, if not blatantly pornographic. If songs like, “Sex & Power,” “Vomitting,” and “Sewer” were indicator enough of what Sabrok was about, she entitled the band’s fifth and final, entitled, “You’re Sodomized.”

As Sabrok’s music and persona grew more extreme, so did her physical appearance.  In 2001, she underwent additional cosmetic surgery to once again alter her face and increase her already enormous breasts to a J-cup. This caught the eye of the Mexican edition Playboy, which invited Sabrok to pose for its July 2003 issue, along with featured story / pictography. So popular was the issue, Sabrok was invited back again for the August 2005 issue.
